I have an ipad Pro 4th gen, what stylus can I use for procreate?

There is no such thing as an iPad Pro 4th generation which is probably why you cannot find anything about it.

The current 12.9" iPad Pro is the 3rd Generation of iPad Pro.

The current 11" iPad Pro is the first and only generation of it so far.

The 3rd Generation 12.9" iPad Pro and the 11" are compatible with the Second Generation Apple Pencil.

The 1st and 2nd Generation 12.9" iPad Pros and the 9.7" and 10.5" iPad Pros are compatible with the first Generation Apple Pencil.

Yes. The current 7th generation 10.2" iPad works with the first generation Apple Pencil as shown in the link I provided above. Use Apple Pencil with your iPad or iPad Pro - Apple Support

And yes, Apple has a thing about exceedingly vague or extremely common names for their products.

If its the regular 4th Generation iPad from 2013, then yes, it does not support any of the Apple Pencils.

You can use 3rd party styluses however.

Procreate is NOT the ONLY sketching/drawing/painting app for iPad.

If you have a 4th gen iPad, do you already have an older version of Procreate on that 4th gen iPad already?

Because Procreate 5 has moved on to a minimum iOS version of iPadOS 13.2.

Not sure if older versions of Procreate can still be gotten from the iOS App Store, any longer, or not.

And since Procreate is a paid app, it would be a 50/50 shot that the developers of Procreate has left an older version of Procreate on Apple's iOS App Store servers, or not!

Most sketching/drawing/painting apps have, now, moved to a minimum iOS versions of iOS 11, 12 or iPadOS 13.

So, if you do not have Procreate or any other major sketching/drawing/painting app on that 4th gen iPad already, it maybe too late to obtain the Procreate app, now.

So, purchasing a third party smart Bluetooth stylus maybe a wasted purchase if there are no supported apps no longer available to be downloaded from the iOS App Store, any longer, for that iPad, because your 4th generation iPad cannot support any newer versions of iOS which these art apps need now.

How long have you had that Apple Pencil lying around NOT being used or charged up?

You cannot store Apple Pencils for any prolonged period of time and NOT keep them charged up to some level.

If your Apple Pencil/s sat around unused or unopened and not kept charged up for more than a few weeks, or so, OR

LONGER, then the battery in your Apple Pencil may have failed and is dead and you will have to purchase another

brand new Apple Pencil or get under one-year warranty free replacements from Apple.

And it looks like some things about the Apple Pencil have NOT changed in the new version 2 model, either.

FYI and something Apple never divulges to it potential iPad Pro/Apple Pencil customers/users unless the potential customer/user is smart enough to ask about.

Due to the “always on and active/standby” nature of the Apple Pencil and, also, due to its very tiny rechargeable Li-

ion battery ( smaller than the eraser head on a REAL wooden pencil ), the Apple Pencil needs to be constantly charged up to some significant charge level ALL THE TIME, even when not using the Pencil for prolonged periods of time.

The Apple Pencil needs to be kept charged to a minimum of 5-10% all the time.

If the Apple Pencil battery is allowed to drain down to 0% and allowed to stay in that flat condition for more than a few weeks, or so, OR EVEN LONGER, that very tiny little Li-ion battery is too small to keep at a 0% state for a long period of time and it will fail and the Apple Pencil will be dead and you may have to “pop” for another $99 Apple Pencil, once again!

Apple only has a one-year warranty on any Apple accessory items.

You need to keep your Apple Pencil charged all the time, even if it is only to 10%-15% charge. It must keep some charge level in that tiny Lithium-ion battery at all times!

You will probably need to purchase the Apple Pencil, again.

The new 2019, 10.2 inch screen, 7th gen iPad works with the 1st gen Apple Pencil which you are going to have to repurchase if you left your original Apple Pencil just sitting in a box, unused.

i would strongly recommend purchasing the 128 GBs storage model of the 7th gen iPad.

The base model 32 GBs storage model ONLY has approx. between 27-28 GBs of actual usable data storage space.

A 32 GBs iPad does not have enough data storage space for creating and saving art or doing anything else with an iPad.

A 128 GBs iPad has approx. 118-120 GBs of actual usable data storage space to work with.

You will run out of usable data storage space quicker than you think with a 32 GBs storage iPad than with a 128 GBs storage model.
