My apple watch series 5 does not show the cellular button
If you have a Cellular Watch the Cellular "button" (ICON) should look like the white Icon in this photo. (Upper Left).

Thankyou Julieda. I guess the iwatch Series 5 I own does not have the same functionality. It still makes calls through the cell phone connection but I only have the blue icon in the photo next to the cellular icon you mentioned.
Then it would be a GPS only watch. Like you said though, it will still work with the iPhone nearby.
