Is apple pay a banking app
I was having a discussion with a friend and I wanted to know if apple pay can be considered a banking app.

That’s a gray area. Apple Pay itself is just another way to present a credit card or debit card, so from that perspective it isn’t a banking app. If you set up Apple Cash in Apple Pay, however, that is a banking function, and in fact it is backed by a real bank.
