Stolen iPhone

My husband just got his iPhone X stolen. I would like to stop the photo sharing without deleting on my device the albums shared from his.

Also, is there a way to internationally signal his device serial number through apple in order to block it and make it unusable and identifiable as stolen?

Finally, is deleting all that can be deleted remotely going to delete it from mine too as well as from ICloud?

I don’t really get the process since it says that when erasing sensitive data remotely in and I phone will also remove the remote lock you did.

The iPhone was actually stolen while in use: is there a way to force quit it remotely?

Thank-you in advance and sorry if this was answered a hundred times already We are quite upset and probably not as efficient as we should...

Hi Songmai,

Thanks for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. I understand that your husband's iPhone was stolen and you'd like to know the steps you need to take to protect his data. I know it can be stressful when a device is stolen; I'd like to help. It's not possible to remotely disable photo sharing on an iPhone, but taking steps to lock the device will prevent the device from being accessed or modified by others.

Erasing the iPhone removes all personal data as well as the remote lock on the device; erasing the device is not required and keeping the device locked and marked as lost prevents any access from unknown users. If you choose to erase the device, the iCloud data will remain intact in iCloud, but anything that hasn't been synced to iCloud or backed up cannot be recovered.

I'd suggest reviewing the following resource for any additional steps you can take that you haven't already: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is lost or stolen

Best Regards.
