Phone stolen

I recently purchased an I phone 6 128 gb on eBay, before I was able to hook it up it was stolen out of my car. I contacted the company I bought the phone from and he sent me the imei number and a copy of my receipt. I looked up the imei and it’s currently hooked up through T-Mobile and in service is there a way to blacklist it and have it disconnected?

This information (imei and receipt) may be useful for the police if you are going to contact them to find the thief.

Some carriers can blacklist such devices, but you need to contact them (T-Mobile in your case, I believe) to check whether it's possible.
