Mac disables USB Devices due to the use of too much power

If a Mac accessory needs more power or is using too much power it won't display to other screens.

I've plugged the Mac and TV screen into an electrical outlet, but it will only display for 3 seconds before it gets turned off.

There aren't any other bus-powered devices connected to the Mac either.

Are they any ideas on how to solve this issue?

Any ideas?

Try an SMC reset and a PRAM reset (hold the PRAM reset for a full minute so it activates several times).

Does the issue happen when you don't have the TV connected to the laptop?

If you have no external devices connected to the laptop and the above resets do not work, then take the laptop to Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider.
