Custom Lyrics and Artwork not saving in iTunes 12.8.2.3

This is a recurring issue. I'm currently running iTunes 12.8.2.3 on MacBook Pro running High Sierra 10.13.6

If you click on a song file within iTunes, command i (you can also get to this by clicking on the three dots at the far right of the song file). There is an Artwork tab and Lyrics tab available. No option is given to place or insert Artwork, but there is an option to add custom lyrics.

When adding Lyrics, you can tick the box bottom right marked Custom Lyrics and it will allow you to paste lyrics in from the clipboard.

If you click ok, they are not saved.

So no adding Artwork feature or Custom Lyrics feature that I can find or make work.

Given they exist as part of the iTunes 'Song info' options, surely this is an error or oversight?

Any news from Apple on this or fixes greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

MJ

Hello marcjenks

Thank you for stopping by Apple Support Communities. From what you've described, you're unable to add lyrics or artwork in iTunes on your Mac. I'd love the chance to help out.

First, check to see if you have any updates available for iTunes: Update to the latest version of iTunes.

Next, test the issue in another user account: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac.

Finally, please reply with whether or not you have an Apple Music membership.

Take care.
