Can I remotely set an alarm on my iPhone with my MacBook Pro?

I use outlook for all my personal and business appointments.

Outlook, well the mac, has no usable notification or alarm.

I need a loud alarm which goes off until I switch it off (like an iphone wakeup alarm!)

So I miss every single critical meeting, because there is no audible or visual alarm. There is just that tiny notification box in the bottom right which is always there, and completely unnoticeable.

The iphone does know about each appointment as I syc my calendars, and makes one beep 15 minutes before the appointment (which is what my company sets all its meeting reminders to), but I never hear it. I need a full blown long lasting alarm to go off continuously until I stop it.

When I am working on my mackbook, and I get a meeting request, I have to force myself to immediately put it in my phone as an alarm, or I will miss it. If my phone is in my bag, or in the next room, this is difficult as I have a bad leg, and getting up is painful. I want to set the alarm ideally from my mac for my iphone.

Sadly, there is no alarm app or functionality for the mac, so I have to use my phone as my macs appointment reminder notifier.

I've started a new event by clicking on the day of the event. I then clicked on the alert button and selected when I want the alert to sound - pointed to by the top arrow. The arrow below points to the button I can click on to add a new alert. In this way I generally set an alert prior to a meeting or appt to remind me (for preparations) and then another alert for the appt to remind me.

I use iCloud to share this (and several other calendars) with my phone so the alert will go to my phone. On my phone I've set the sound and vibration pattern for my alerts.

Hi kaz-k, thanks for the reply. I have the appointments synced to ical, but ical doesn't remind me at all - there is no alaram when the event starts. It does make one sound once 15 mins before, but this is completely useless. I never hear it because its just one beep, and I need it to always go off right at the event start time, not just 15 mins before which is what all meeting reminders are set to.
