Can any of you help me understand the following. My iPhone shows a 'thin' X in the top-right corner of the screen. It is shown on top of the top-right icons. The phone is am running iOS 13 on a iPhon X max. What does this x mark mean?

thanks for your support. It turns out that the image quality was too low. As Demo suggested, changing the wallpaper into the official one made the x disappear. Also tried better quality images and no x appears. Tried the lower quality ones and the x reappears.

Is it only on the lock screen, or also on your home screen page?
Have you tried to change the lock screen wallpaper?

Are you using the same wallpaper (for locked screen and for home page)?
In any case, try to change it, just to make a test.

good question, no it is visible on the homescreen too. It disappears when launching an app and returns when returning to the home screen including 'locked screen' as in the picture.

did the test wit a white background screensaver. The x now appears as a black x.
To me it seems that iOS determines the color based on screen background?

Did you change to a totally different wallpaper? Try one of the built in wallpapers.
X in top-right of iOS iPhon screen?
