AirPods Stolen

So my AirPods were stolen, I have the serial number and box. There must be a way that this can be reported so when they are used I can find out who stole them?

apple can't legally track the products they sell any more than Toyota or Ford can

the find my (iphone ....) systems they have are purely for users to track their own devices

airpod has not gps build into them airports has a limited range of around 50meters because bluetooth being the means it communicate, when an airpod connects it does not connect to the internet it connects to a device which support the a2dp bluetooth profile https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Bluetooth_profiles#Advanced_Audio_Distribution_Profile_(A2DP)
