Why can’t I open a recipe I just saved in pages?

I just saved a recipe in pages. Why can’t I open it?

Considering several similar posts in the time since Catalina was released, this appears to be a widespread issue.


One suggestion that has received several "This worked" replies has been:


  • Quit Pages (or Numbers if you see the issue with that application).
  • Restart your Mac.
  • Reopen Pages / Numbers
  • Repeat the attempt to open the file.
