Does the printer indicate that it is connected to the appropriate WiFi router with the same WPA2 secured password WiFi that the computer is connected to?
If it does not show that WiFi, and you can't enter the password on the printer screen for the printer, you will need to link the printer to the Mac via a USB printer cable when you install the drivers, and are connected to the correct WiFi. The installer will allow you to program the printer to accept the same WiFi as the computer.
Did you download the drivers from:

Did you attempt to add the drivers using the Option key in the Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Printers and Scanners, holding the Option key when adding the printer with the + icon below the printer list after installing the drivers? That is sometimes necessary if the printer does not immediately show up after installing the drivers and restarting the Mac.
