Samsung finally came up with drivers for Samsung Xpress C48X printer. Downloaded them, but can't install them.
I get the message 'cannot open this .pkg because Apple cannot check it for hostile software'.
Any suggestions on how to continue?

Your Samsung C48x is also supported by Apple's AirPrint wired/wireless printing technology that does not require Samsung drivers. With your printer networked, and powered, Reset the Print System, and on the panel where you ordinarily choose the printer drivers before re-adding the printer, select AirPrint instead.

I downloaded the drivers, printer and scanner and had no problem installing them.
Try downloading the scanner driver again. Control-click on it to open it.
See if you can install it now.
Control-click on the .pkg and select Open from the submenu, another screen will show where you can select Open.
Where did you download them from? If it was from Samsung's website there should be no problem with the installer. However, if the printer is AirPrint compatible VikingOSX's suggestion would be the way to go.
Nowadays Samsung doesn’t support their printers anymore, HP does. I downloaded the software from HP.
I am not looking for a workaround.
Can you show me screenshots of what you see please.
Have you tried Control-clicking on the scan driver.
On the menubar, click on the apple icon
Click on SystemPreferences, Security & Privacy
Click on the tab General
Unlock the padlock at the bottom left of the screen
Enable: Allow apps that are downloaded on the App Store or developers ...
Thank you for your suggestion. It was helpful for the .pkg concerning the printer driver. Unfortunately for the scan driver I got the same message as before: not able to install because Apple cannot check it.
This is the screenshot (in Dutch) telling me I cannot open .pkg because Apple cannot check for hostile software.
I tried the control-Click on the scan driver as well. Then installation starts, but it ends with this message:
Something went wrong while installing. Installation has failed.
As you suggested I downloaded the drivers again, but still the 'checking' pop up appeared on opening both with the Control-click and the double-click.
I am glad you we were able to install them. Did you notice anything strange in the software?
If not, maybe I should ignore the warning and just choose 'open anyway' in the System preferences, Security and privacy.

So apparently Samsung is not a known developer?
I feel a little bit uneasy clicking 'open anyway'
I know I can use AirPrint, but I prefer the software of Samsung since I need to scan a lot too. It simply has more options.
