Give a purchased movie for someone else

Try on an iOS device in the the iTunes Store App (purple icon) > movies Tab , use the share icon (top right) , there is an option to gift it. They will receive an email (to redeem it) to the email account you used.

I’m in Canada as well. I’ve only ever gifted to another Canadian; just iTunes cards.

Some movies are only available to certain regions. I’m not sure how it would work if it was also available in the recipients region. It could also present a conflict. The iTunes Store operates on region specific. For example: an iTunes gift card is useless to someone in another country.
