I just bought a new Iphone 11 pro from apple store yesterday. I have financed it through apple. Why didn't I get an unlocked phone?

Was the financing done through the Apple upgrade Program? Though Apple Financing? Or through AT&T Next perhaps?
You said you did not get an unlocked iPhone, meaning you new for a fact it was a locked phone. Now you say you want to confirm it is unlocked? I'm confused.
The only way to confirm it is unlocked is to attempt to use a sim card from a different carrier than the one you are using now.
If you selected T-Mobile as your carrier during purchase, then you would have received a T-Mobile sim card inside. That is normal. It does not mean its locked to T-Mobile.
If you can use the T-Mobile sim card, and a sim card from an entirely different carrier, without having it issue an error, then it means its unlocked.

Financing is done through Apple. I got a Tmobile Sim card in it as I had my previous carrier with Tmobile and the same number. I traded in my old Iphone 8 to apple. How can you confirm if it is unlocked/ not. Also, if it is not, I want it to be unlocked as it is financed through apple.
