How is the data from separate users segregated in a family plan? For example if my daughter goes under my account but eventually wants to split off, Ken her data remain separate from mine so that she can put into her her own account later on

If you use a shared data plan with family members, how is the data segregated in case someone wants to start their own account in the future?

When you share an iCloud storage plan, each person's data is stored separately under their own Apple ID. It is more of a shared billing arrangement. See the following from Share an iCloud storage plan with your family - Apple Support

When you share a storage plan, your photos and documents stay private and everyone keeps using their own accounts with iCloud—just like when you have your own storage plan. You simply share the space available in the iCloud storage plan with your family members, so you only have one plan to manage.

On the other hand, if family members start off by using your Apple ID, getting their own data and information separated out later is extremely difficult (impossible for some things).
