Can the smart keyboard be attached to the IPad while using a cover? I am using a Fintie CaseBot Kiddie cover which is pretty thick foam. But now the kids need to be able to attach a keyboard for some school projects.

Unfortunately if this case covers up the Smart Connection on the left side of iPad then you cannot use this case with Smart Keyboard.
Some of the Fintie iPad kids covers allow for access to the bottom of the iPad.
You would need to check to see if that case/cover allows access to the middle edge smart connector, or not.
You always have the option of a separate, external Bluetooth keyboard to type on an iPad.
