stolen macbook

Hi There

Unfortunately my macbook pro early 2015 was stolen on sunday. Is there a way to report the serial number to apple? The find my macbook feature has not pinged where the laptop is as of yet.

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.14

Why not. when the thiefs try and register it, it can come up as stolen.
