Export Apple Photo images to .jpg?

I want to upload some of my Apple Photos to Photo Station on my Synology server. Normally, I would just drag and drop the images to my desktop, but when I do that all of the Apple Photo images have a .jpeg extension, which my Synology server won't read. How can I save or export my Apple Photos as .jpg images instead?

Thanks!

Can you batch convert the folder sitting on your Desktop?

jpeg is just another naming convention same as jpg

Create an arbitrarily named folder on your Desktop. Export the .jpeg images from Photos into this folder.

In that folder select all .jpeg images. Right/control-click on one image and select Rename nn Items… . In the pop-up dialog that appears for Rename, use these setttings:

When you click Rename, every selected image with .jpeg extension is changed to .jpg extension. Copy these up to the Synology.

That's a good idea. Unfortunately, .jpg is not one of the export options. :(

Graphic Converter There is a test version trial

GIMP shareware

both of these have many more options and both more of a true photo editing software, including batch convert to jpg options.

Seems a silly limitation imposed by the macOS. You can send Apple Feedback http://www.apple.com/feedback

AppleScript would be another way of changing all files with a folder .jpeg .jpg

Graphic Converter 11 worked perfectly, but it seems a little slow. Not in terms of the conversion, but just the fluidness of the app. In your opinion, is it worth the $39.95 asking price? Thanks again for all your help.

I have used GraphicConverter for over ten years esp for FTP working on a servers & associated files in website development.

Worth every penny. Excellent customer support, excellent/timely software updates. Highly recommended.

Use the Trial version and make up your mind later.
