iCloud Photos

My iPhone photos do not automatically upload to the iCloud, but my husband's do. Is it possible for mine to automatically upload as well as his?

MacBook Pro 13", OS X 10.11

Do you have iCloud Photos turned on in your iPhone? See: Set up and use iCloud Photos - Apple Support

Also, are you using your own Apple ID for iCloud? If not, be aware that the photos on both devices will be merged.
