Photo is not showing the Location of a photo that has GPS geotag on the RAW file. I can use the Ccano Digital Professional app to see the Geotag on the File. why is this and how to fix it?

Photos 5.0 on Catalina is not showing the location for photos on the Places map, if the image files have been imported as referenced files (meaning: not copied into the Photos Library, but referenced in their original location).
Also, for some Canon cameras seems to be a problem with the camera firmware. It is no longer fully compatible with Catalina and needs an update for full compatibility.
which system version do you have installed? did you just upgrade to Catalina?
Yes, MACOSX Catalina V 10.15.2
upgraded some time ago. new camera so never tied this with any other version.
