Hello,
Apple states in Settings that Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad are not supported.
That being said there is a work around.
Turn off Magic Mouse
Disable AssistiveTouch
Open Settings > Switch Control > Switches > Bluetooth
Hold down the Mouse Button while turning on the bottom Magic Mouse switch. The indicator light should now flash.
Select Magic Mouse on your iPad.
Now enable AssistiveTouch.

iPad Can I use a mouse with iPad 2?
Are you referring to an actual, over 9-year old , 2011 iPad 2nd generation?
Definitely NOT!
If you need an iPad that can run the latest and greatest versions of iOS with all the latest and greatest features, as well as, the most current apps available, then, you need to purchase a new iPad from Apple or a discounted, refurbished iPad from Apple’s Refurbished & Clearance section of Apple’s Website or a new or refurbished iPad from an Apple authorised, third party retail or online reseller OR other trusted sources for new or used Apple products.
Sorry.
Why did you state you had an iPad 2?
Then you mention and iPad Air that is running iPadOS 13.5.
Now you are telling me you are using an iPad Air 5th gen.
There is no iPad Air 5th gen.
Your questions and responses are all over the place!
Time to ask you some questions.
What is the “A” model number of your iPad?
The “A” model number of your iPad can be found on the lower area of the aluminium back of your iPad in small print letters right underneath the large, bold printed” iPad”.
Okay,
You own a 2014 iPad Air 2 ( 2nd generation ) that I am assuming is running the current iPadOS 13.5.
You can use either the Apple Magic Mouse 2 or Magic Trackpad 2 or most other wireless, Bluetooth mice with that iPad.
I tried that and I can’t. I got a Magic Mouse 2 for Christmas and I just don’t wanna not use it.
It does not work for me. When Apple is planning to support the Magic Mouse for IPadOS .... does not make any sense buy a new mouse
Yes you can.
Tap and watch this YouTube video to help you set up the Magic Mouse 2.
See my YouTube video link above.
Tap and watch this YouTube video link I supplied above.
This workaround was removed by Apple in iOS/iPadOS 13.3.
it was working for me ! Since last night it vanished . Any idea if it will be back?
As of iPad OS 13.3.1, the Apple Magic Mouse 2 is not supported, sadly.
Need to paid the Magic Mouse 2 with my ipad
