Apple Music and Library Home Sharing
Hello,
Sorry if this is being discussed elsewhere but I didn't quite find a thread with the same question. I finally got Apple Music for the whole family (5 people) and we love it. We are a Apple everything family, from iPhones, to AppleTV, to HomePods etc.
Up until now, to share our local library of music and home videos, I have had a Mac Mini running in a closet with home sharing turned on, so all the AppleTVs could read off of the home media library. This is also the library where I uploaded non iTunes-purchased music. That need seems to have pretty much gone away now with Apple Music. Everyone has their library and can access whatever song they want without ever consulting the home library. Even the Music App on ATV can now display all the unique items that used to be only on the network home library. So...is there even a reason for me to keep sharing the media library? Maybe just for the videos/TV shows?
Kind of realated, but as I buy music from a fitness company to teach classes (that are not "matchable" by Apple) do I need to upload it first to my Mac Mini library, or will any of my libraries do - say from my Macbook and they will be synced to all my libraries?
Thank you for your insight.
