Graphic card dedicated memory displays incorrectly on Win10 after creating Bootcamp partition on MacBook Pro

Hi all,

I have created a windows partition on a vanilla Macbook Pro with the latest OS updates.

The partition was created with no issues but I noticed that the "Dedicated memory" on the graphic card appears as 128MB where as the total memory on the laptop is 8GB.

For my application to work I would need at least 500MB of dedicated memory as per screenshot attach where I show the error I get.

Is there a way to allocate more "dedicated memory" from the total "shared memory" allocated to the graphic card to meet the requirement of my application?

As there is enough memory on the machine I assume there is a way to do so..

I have contacted Apple support however they were not able to help me further.

Attached screenshots from Mac showing the OS and the memory allocated to the graphic card on Mac in addition to screenshots from the windows partition showing the error I get and the memory settings.

In my research I came across a solution to change the memory allocation at the MS BIOS level however the BIOS on the Bootcamp is Apple OS Bios and therefore there is no way I could access or change it

Thank you in advance for your help, I assume this is something common as my Macbook Pro is 1 day old and the Bootcamp is standard using MS ISO file from MS website.

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.14

In a 'shared' architecture, available VRAM changes on demand. The Application which is requesting 500MB does not understand this 'shared' model. It should change to understand it better. Your best course of action is asking the Application Support team to either remove this check, or understand the 'shared' architecture and check it based on OS versions and which versions support which architecture. W8/8.1 also behaves similarly. I am surprised that the Application vendor has not kept up and thinks as documented in https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005472/graphics-drivers.html .

What if I will get Parallels ? will that show me a different dedicated memory ?

Parallels will not change the 'shared' model.

Thank you Loner T,

This is a good explanation and it shows the issue I'm having similar to the screenshot I attached...

I saw a similar thread at https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6731478 but again there is no solution...

On that thread he have contacted MS and Intel , none of them understood or were able to help.
