Apple support scam

I have gotten several calls from someone saying they are Apple support and that my iCloud account has been hacked and they need to see in my computer to diagnose the problem. To do that, I would have to let them take over control with my password. I don’t trust them, but they are adamant about the fact they are secure. Does Apple support ever call a customer to do something like this or is it a scam?

Apple does not make such calls.

All such calls are scams from criminals attempting to steal your personal and financial information. The callers will often use number spoofing to pretend they are calling from a legitimate business. The correct course of action is to hang up on them, repeatedly if needed.
