Updating Apple Watch

My Apple watch will not update due to not enough storage. The message tells me to delete apps on my Apple watch to free up storage, but I have no apps other than the Apple installed apps (which I confirmed in the apple watch app on my iPhone), which cannot be deleted. How do I free up more storage?

Unpair your Apple Watch via the Watch app on your iPhone.

Then Re-pair your Apple Watch, choosing either to Restore from Backup or

setting up as a new watch.Then try the update again.
