Time Machine will not complete backup on macOS Catalina
Hi all,
For years I've been using time machine without any issues with my NAS storage (QNAP TS-212P) and before that an Lenovo EMC NAS (Single drive bay << reason why I moved to the QNAP).
Since the upgrade to Catalina I have issues with the backup. First it failed and it told me to start a new backup.
I did so, but it kept returning to that message.
It does start backing up:
but it stops after some 10-15min. with that error.
I have completely re-initialized the Qnap NAS as well as the Lenovo one, meaning full format, factory reset and setup time machine etc. from beginning.
Did not help.
I have updated the firmware from the QNAP to the most recent version. Did not help. I have updated the firmware of the Lenovo to most recent, did not help. Both firmwares are from 11.2019, so recent.
I removed all entries in keychain for the login to the NAS and entered all credentials again. I've tried to connect on IP instead of name: no difference.
I have swapped the disks in the NAS for brand new ones as I still had spares in office, no difference.
Sometimes I am receiving this error:
I am kind of out of ideas what I can do.
I captured the log on the terminal of my last try to backup to the QNAP. Maybe someone here sees something interesting in there?
Command used to capture:
log stream --style syslog --predicate 'senderImagePath contains[cd] "TimeMachine"' --info
