iphone 7 in recovery mode

My daughter disabled her iphone 7 after entering the wrong passoword multiple times. We also cannot remember her apple password. I put the device in recovery mode and was supposed to receive instructions on what to do next (sent to my phone)....have not received anything. The phone has been disabled for over a week now. Anyone have any advice for me? I spoke with an apple rep over the phone a few days ago and was told all I could was wait for instructions from apple. This seems like a silly amount of time spent waiting to resolve this problem.

Apple's recovery process is very long. There have been posts that it took 24+ days. The Recovery Process is an automated process and length of time it takes can vary a lot. Apple ID Support can only answer your questions. They can't intervene in or speed up the process. If you put her ID into the recovery process, the article below has some suggestions to shorten the the time the process takes.
