Doesn't the camera have a USB-connector?
If you connect it and nothing happens, try to open either Photos or Image Capture and see if you can connect the camera. You also should find a button telling the app to automatically open whenever this camera is connected?
If you happen to have an older mac, you could insert the memory-card directly or with an adapter, the results (of an app opening etc.) are more or less the same.
