Get rid of Pop up! I am tired of this popping up "To use the “java” command-line tool you need to install a JDK."! Everything I see is for older versions of OS

Yeah, that's annoying for sure. are you trying to use the "java" command-line tool ?or is it just something that popped up and won't go away, like the 'flu. Java isn't as essential as it used to be, but it's still needed from time to time.

here's a more recent version of Java (from 2017)--yup,it's a link

otherwise go to java.com

I don't know what OS you have on your iMac pro. If you would go to the left top corner of the screen, under the big Apple icon, and click on "About this Mac", it'll tell you, and then you can tell us, and we can help you better

thanks

Apple stopped updating the Java JDK some time ago. Oracle now provides the latest version of JDK (up to JDK 13 by Oracle's numbering) for macOS (and WIndows and Linux). Perhaps the latest Oracle kit (or one of the earlier kits, depending upon which one is compatible with the version of macOS in question) will have what the application is looking for.
