Apple Watch VO2 max

My Apple Watch 3 had been reliably measuring my VO2 Max, with different measurements to some degree each time I measure VO2max. After a recent software upgrade it now gives a VO2 Max value that are unchanged over more than 10 measurements over several weeks. Is there any way to get the watch to again measure VO2max?

The most popular way to fix this is to unpair and then re-pair your watch.

I unpaired and successfully repaired. Then I did my usual 'outdoor walk'. It did not register an MVO2 value. I'll try again tomorrow.
