Apple Mail and Calendar Keep Crashing

For about a month now (since early November 2019), Apple mail and calendar have been crashing on my MacBook. Is anyone else having issues? I've checked for and run any software updates. I've rebooted it several times. I've clicked the "report" button. But it keeps happening and the frequency also is increasing. I have a 15" Pro that I bought in 2011, running Sierra 10.13.6.

Let's start with this...


Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?


Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.


If that doesn't help, disconnect from the Internet & see if Mail crashes.


If still no good Disconnect from the Internet, then start Mail, look for the last rec'd eMail.


Quit Mail & login to your WebMail in a Browser, if possible delete any later eMails there after the last rec'd one on the Mac.
