is there a way to update an ipad2

The only way to update it is to purchase a newer model. (I Have one myself and only use it to play music now.

An iPad 2 cannot be updated past 9.3.5 (9.3.6 for the CDMA Cellular model), as the iPad 2 is too old (from early 2011) and it's hardware just cannot support anything newer.

An iPad 2 is a nearly 9-year old iPad that reached the end of support from Apple over three years, ago.

Since the beginning of 2019, many, MANY third party app developers are removing all of their older app versions from Apple's iOS App Store servers and are more quickly abandoning these 7, 8 and 9-year old iPad models, now.

This is only going to get much worse over time, now.

App support, just like what happened to the first 2010 1st gen iPad stuck on iOS 5.1.1, is going to just disappear and it will happen much sooner, than later, now.

Time for a new or discounted, refurbished iPad from Apple.

These 7, 8 and 9-year old iPads have gone as far as they will go, now.

Whatever apps are still on these devices are going to be the versions they are going to be stuck with forever!

Many that do not need an active Internet connection to work will still work, those that need some form of Internet interoperability, will definitely cease to work or function.

It is happening with many older video streaming apps.
