airpods 2nd gen not behaving properly after 2C54 firmware update

Since doing the firmware update this week my airpods won't connect properly. either left or right will connect not both unless i disconnect and reconnect several times also the double tap to skip tracks won't work on my designated ear and music doesn't stop playing when I remove the airpod but does stop if i remove the left airpod. I have removed them from my iphone and reconnected them several times already to no avail. Am I the only one experiencing this?

Same here, worked fine out of the box on old firmware. Since updating, the left will not connect! Did you manage to fix this?
