Does the Apple TV 4K model require a 4K monitor to work?

If you have a TV that is not 4K it will work just fine. I had an old Sony that was not 4K and connected my Apple TV 4K to it and it performed with no problem. The TV displayed the highest resolution it could. When I upgraded TVs and went with a 4K TV I was then able to enjoy 4K content in 4K.
