Thunderbolt Sound Working, Display is Not

Hi! I have a new MacBook Air and have connected it to a Thunderbolt Display via a USB to USC converter. The sound is transferring and working, but the display is still black/not converting. Any advice? Am I missing step? Does the USC connection work for display? Any help would be great.

It shows up in Displays but picture is Black I'm connecting an Acer XR382CQK 37" to my Mac Studio using a Thunderbolt 3 to DisplayPort cable (Cable works with my 16" MacBookPro & same monitor) and the monitor reports no signal / Black screen. However, using the MacStudio HDMI I can see the Acer Monitor (connected with the DisplayPort cable) shows up in the Display Preferences but still no picture / signal? I'm under the impression there's no special cable needed beyond Thunderbolt 3 to DisplayPort, is this correct?

BigSur doesn't recognize Thunderbolt Display Audio, USB, Mic, Camara Hi there. I just update my iMac to BigSur ... And when I connect the Thunderbolt Display, the only output sound is Internal display (iMAC) , and the Thunderbolt Display audio out don't appear in the option as the OS Catalina did. Also the MIC, Camera, USB. The image works great, but all the other stuff don't. Someone can't tell me how I can work around this issue? Thanks in advance.

I have a Macbook Pro 16inch M1 from 2021 and it is not connecting to my Studio Display (screen flashes) Hello, I have a Macbook Pro (Apple M1 Max, 64 GB) I bought the Studio display very recently. When I connect the thunderbolt cable the following happens: my MacBook screen goes black and the studio display gets an image then my studio display goes black and my MacBook gets the image. This happens all very quickly, in milliseconds, so my screens are both flashing. I do however see a message appearing: Unable to connect accessory I think, the screen flashes too quickly to really see it. However, when I connect the MagSafe power adapter to my MacBook it works. Problem solved. However, I also have an older Macbook pro from 2018, which doesn't have MagSafe, so with that Macbook the studio display doesn't work. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance. Kind regards

if the display is the Apple Thunderbolt Display then use the Apple dongle called thunderbolt3 to thunderbolt.
