Help with activation lock!

Have an old iPad that I cleared and gave to parents. They said it worked for a while than it locked them

out and is asking for an email and password at the activation lock. No one has a clue what email or password would be. They think their mentality unstable daughter went through things and messed it all up. Asking for an email that starts with a d and there are three of us with name starting with d . So we are lost and just want th iPad to work!! And get past this activation lock! Someone please help this is so annoying

If you are the original owner of the iPad, you can take it, along with the original proof of purchase to a physical Apple Store and request help to restore it. They will only do that for the original owner, no one else. If you cannot locate the original receipt, you will have to ask them what will do. That is the best that anyone here can say. We are all users like yourself, and Activation Lock is an anti-theft deterrent, and because devices can change hands so much, Apple will only work with the original owner.

We have tried but my parents are in their 70’s and have a 43 year old drug/ multiple personality daughter living and out of house and unfortunately have had to change passwords and Id multiple times and also have leaned on daughter for help which ended up not working out so well for them.. (they are a very old in their 70’s couple.) So we have no idea how to move forward because no one remembers, time had long passed and daughter is beyond capable to sit down and be cooperative. My mom just wants to play games while recovering from hip surgery. Can Apple just clear this away?
