I have the falling snow file clip that can be added to a video like an overlay, but i cant seem to find any information on how to do this. Well there was one from 2013 but the same method did not apply for 2019 obviously.
Can anyone help me do this. I have a video of a wintery background but id like to add the already created video of falling snow to it. Thank you

iMovie 10 has no falling snow effect. I am not sure what type of falling snow file clip you have that can be added to a video like an overlay. Is it a green screen clip? A transparency?
In any event try placing the snow clip in the auxiliary timeline above the wintery background, and selecting the snow clip. Then click on the overlay tool (the one that looks like overlapping squares) in the tool bar at the upper right of your screen. There will be a selection box where you can choose Cutaway, Green/Blue Screen or Picture in Picture. See which one of those may work.
