Every time I write (or update) a hand written note that last few steps disappear when I close and open the app. Dont think it happens on the typed notes but only handwritten ones using the Apple Pencil.

What iPad are you using and what iOS version is it running?
I am using Ipad pro 11inch and iOS 13.3
iOS 13.3 was supposed to fix this issue.
Have you tried a hard reset of your 2018 iPad Pro?

I have not tried that yet. Will do that now and see if it makes a difference
