Connecting a flash drive to my MacBook
My 2017 MacBook has only one power port on the left side and an audio port on the right side. How do I connect a flash drive? What kind of adapter can I use?
MacBook, macOS 10.15

The last Mac with a single USB port has been discontinued, and I guess this forum is for legacy devices. I do find that 2 ports make it usable enough with one for charging and one for everything else via a hub. The hubs with pass-through charging are a bit on the pricey side though, which is what might make a 12" MacBook usable.
I know you already got a recommendation, but there are all sorts of adapters, hubs, or docks that would work. Some even include another USB-C port that can be used to charge the host device.
The cheapest USB-C to USB-A adapter I've seen is this one from Daiso:

This is a 10 pack, but at a local store I bought a single one for $1.50.
If you need more than one USB-A port, there are some really good adapters, including this one that has three USB-A ports as well as a built-in ethernet adapter:

Here's one (kind of pricey) that does a little of everything:

Thanks, I'd have to have the last one . :)
I remember when the initial MacBook Air came out and there were lots of people who were asking how they were supposed to use it with a single USB-A port. I'm not sure how well one of those hubs work trying to handle 8 different functions using a single USB-C connection.

Thanks again to everyone that responded....I really appreciate the advise.. Capt. Arty
This forum is indeed for the 12" Retina MacBooks, the one with one USB-C port, is indicated by the accompanying graphic:
Thanks, I ordered the item....wasn't sure what to order Thanks again.
OK good luck. :)
You'd thinkApple could afford more than one port on a Laptop. :(
Thanks, I'd have to have the last one . :)
:)
Thanks, the 1 port thing was still stuck in my craw! :)
