How to get rid of iMessage and get to use text.

You cannot use SMS texting on an iPad, unless you have an iPhone. If you do not wish to use iMessage, you would need to sign out and turn it off. However, without an iPhone, if you sign out of iMessage, you will not be able to send any messages without a connected iPhone.
