Hello,

Thanks for the information, I have tried to reinstall the OS twice, and also to restore from time Machine once. I am away from that laptop for the next few weeks. so i will give it a try when i have more time, i only get 3 days off every 6 weeks to go home and work on my primary laptop.

Again thanks for the help!!! Merry Christmas and i will let you know how it works out when i get home...

Hey there Gwo3,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. I understand you’re having some issues logging into your Mac Pro. I’ll be happy to help.

Reinstalling macOS definitely helps isolate the issue. Have you tried booting into safe mode as well? If not, give that a try and see if helps:

Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac

If that doesn’t help, do you have a Time Machine backup of your Mac? If so, you could erase and reinstall macOS, then restore from your Time Machine backup. Take a look at these articles for more info:

I hope this helps.
