getting emails saying that games have been purchased under my account, but the name it’s addressed to isn’t me, and the purchases aren’t on my account

I’m getting emails from Apple saying that games have been purchased under my ID, but from a browser they don’t recognize. The address it’s being sent to isn’t mine ( but it comes to me), and when I check my account, no purchase has been made.

  • Apple does not include document, or PDF files to download.
  • Apple would not refer to you as Dear Customer, Dear Client, or anything other than the name on file for your account.
  • Apple would not have such horrible spelling or grammar.
  • Apple would not send a message to “Undisclosed Recipients”.

It is a phishing attempt. Do not respond. Do not divulge any personal or financial information. You can use the address below to forward the suspect email message, as an attachment to Apple.

I’ve had a number of those “your account will be locked” ones, these are just different. I never follow links from questionable emails, and suspected this was phishing, it’s just not one I’ve seen before, lol! I just looked at the expanded address it came from, and oh yeah, it’s phishing. Just wondering if I should cut off my PayPal from my Apple account, but then I’d have some upset ppl come payment time.

I’m very careful not to click on any link in an email, from Apple or anyone. I’ll use a secure browser if I’m more concerned. When I sent the email to Apple phishing, I noticed that there was an attachment of an PayPal receipt, with a claim number and everything, addressed to the woman named in the first email. But, I’ll let Apple work it out. It’s just different than the last batch of phishing I received, that one was 4 months in a row, until I reported it.

Thanks for your responses, I appreciate people like you helping out.
