FREE month or three....NOT

I have been offered free trials on a couple different apps however I have noticed that I was charged immediately for the period of time I was offered the ‘free trial’. How do I go about getting a refund? Since I wanted to see if I’d ever have time to use the app during the free trial that popped up on my phone. What is the proper way to request a refund and from whom do I request refund from?

Although, in this case, I don't know if the developer is at fault if it is supposed to be a free trial. And/or: if you clicked on anything that could remotely have something to do with in-app purchases, you may be stuck (there are free apps with $ in app purchases available).
