Photos on icloud

Am a bit confused! I have an 2TB iCloud account. My Mac is set up to store all photos on iCloud, and optimise space on the laptop. My photos are a combination of my photos, and photos from my partners iPhone. When I want to access an older picture through Pictures on the mac, it works fine, they are all there and it downloads to the laptop.

If I want to access them remotely from a different laptop or desktop by logging into iCloud, only my photographs are there. Any that have been taken on my partners iPhone aren't visible.

Now this confuses me, because presumably they are somewhere for the Mac (Pictures) to be able to download them??

Confused, thanks

You need the password and Apple ID address of the partner , to sign in with a web browser at www.icloid.com to view the photos

see the articles https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/icloud/mm8b32f3ae27/icloud

The partner must always have turned on the photo box in iPhone and set up iCloud photo library https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT204264

You can't remotely peep in another account without taking permissions and credentials of iCloud account holder see the article https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202303
