connecting series 3 apple watch to iPhone with out cellular data.

My son has a iPhone 6 with out cellular data and i am wonder if a apple watch series 3 GPS will connect to his phone because it dose not have cellular data.

If the watch 3 has watchos5 or less then it will pair,if it has watchos6 then it won't because watchos6 requires the phone to have ios13 or higher,an iphone 6 will only go to ios12.

The cellular feature has nothing to do with pairing the devices. The problem will be that in order to have the latest software you will need an iPhone 6S or newer.
