My Caller ID says it’s my dad’s name, not mine

Tonight, I called someone who I recently added as a contact. I don’t know if he has my name saved in his phone or not, but when I called him he asked me who it was. I was like, huh? He said “it says (name of my dad).” Why does my phone number make my dad’s name appear on his phone? Is this a Siri suggestion thing? If it is, I want to be able to turn it off. Please help, thank you

Hi breechrist,

I’m so happy to see that you decided to reach out to the Apple Support Communities for help. I understand that your caller ID doesn’t appear as expected on that other phone. I’m happy to assist you with that.

Give this a try. First, your contact card has the correct info. You can do that by trying the steps here: Add your contact info on iPhone

If that info is correct, share it with your recently added contact. Open the Contacts app and tap on My Card at the very top.  Then, scroll to the bottom and tap on “Share Contact”.

Once you’ve shared it and they’ve confirmed that they added it, try giving them a call.

Wishing you the best!
