Migration assistant fails since it says it can’t connect to my old iMac. Diagnose? Workaround? I don’t understand why Migration Assistant can’t connect my old iMac and my new iMac. They are both connected to the same network with WiFi. Old iMac is mid 2011 running Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.6. New iMac is 21.5” just bought running High Sierra 10.14.5. I am trying to migrate from my pc to my Mac again and it is not allowing me. is there a trick? For migrate assistant I am getting an error message when I try to migrate from my windows pc to my Mac is there a trick?

Do not connect wirelessly, if you are migrating use an Ethernet connection between the two computers ensuring they are on the same network. Either that or put critical PC data onto an external HD and use that to migrate from.
