Hi NLTurner,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! I see you're having an issue setting up Family Sharing, and I'd like to do what I can to help out.

Have you restarted your iPad since noticing this issue? If not, go ahead and do that, as a restart can resolve unusual issues.

Restart your iPad

Verify that your Apple ID has the correct birthdate and that you're at or over the age of maturity, which is 18 in most countries.

You'll also want to be signed in with your Apple ID for iCloud and the iTunes & App Store.

Your iPad should be on the latest available iOS version, and at least iOS 8. Settings > General > Software Update.

If an update is available, make sure you have a current backup.

Locate backups of your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If all looks well, and you've restarted or updated, try again to Set up Family Sharing.

If you're still not able to, try on another device, if you have one. Or contact Apple Support for help.

Take care!
