Imported photos don't show up in Photos Library

Just noticed that photos that I've imported into Photos don't show up in the Photos Library, only under Imports.

In an earlier discussion of this topic it was recommended to go to Image > Adjust Time and Date and set the time and date to the correct time and date. What does "correct time and date" even mean here. All my imports have the time and date of the import as the time and date. For none of them do I have any idea what the "correct" time and date is. And what has this got to do with whether photos appear in the Photos Library?

What's the source of the imported photo? I am asking this because the date the picture was taken is used to sort it within the Photos Library (and not the date you added it to the Library). The fact that it shows up under Imports means it is in your Photos library as it indicates that you have checked "Copy items to Photos Library" under Preferences? When you use "get info" on the imported picture, what does it display? Can you add a screenshot of the Get Info window?

The imported photos were in the Imports folder. I don't find All Photos, just photos. A previous respondent alerted me to the fact that photos in the Library are sorted in the date taken, not date imported. Also to the Get Info option.

The photos were "missing" because I was looking for them under date imported, but they are in fact in the Library under the date taken.
